What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu is a style of bodywork developed in Japan. It is similar to acupuncture, but uses
finger pressure instead of needles. Shiatsu’s name comes from two Japanese words – “shi” or finger and “atsu” or pressure. Shiatsu’s goal is to restore the health flow of energy throughout the body.
Why Shiatsu?
Shiatsu is very good for people who suffer from anxiety, arthritis, back pain, constipation, depression, headaches, insomnia, neck and shoulder pain, poor digestion, stress, tiredness and premenstrual syndrome. Shiatsu is also fantastic for relaxation. Scientists say that Shiatsu calms the overactive sympathetic nervous system. By doing so, it helps improve blood circulation, relieves stiff muscles and alleviates stress.
